40th anniversary of the Académie de l'air et de l'espace - Air and Space Academy

MaiaSpace was extremely proud to participate to the 40th anniversary of the Académie de l’air et de l’espace – Air and Space Academy, held last week at Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III.

Alongside Catherine KAVVADA (European Commission/DG DEFIS), Emmanuelle Meric (Loft Orbital), Magali VAISSIERE (IRT AESE – Saint Exupéry) and Jean-marc ASTORG (CNES), MaiaSpace’s CEO Yohann Leroy clearly exposed his vision on innovation and the way it must be articulated according to the specificities of the European space sector.

Betting on the right technologies that are scalable and future-proof (e.g. reusability), staying 100% focused on customers needs as well as leveraging the existing outstanding expertise of the European space sector, notably from its mother company ArianeGroup, while maintaining the speed, agility and culture of risk of a start-up will be key to develop future competitive launch solutions.

Reminding that MaiaSpace will participate to the European Launchers Challenge announced during the Space Council in Séville with its 2-stage reusable minilauncher, Yohann Leroy also reacted to Catherine KAVVADA’s call to see MaiaSpace play a role in the deployment of the European Commission IRIS2 constellation program.

The answer was crystal clear: “You can count on us!”
